Hospital Policies

Policies

All pets must be restrained by a leash or in a carrier. This is for your pet's protection and the protection of other clients and animals.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Also, some pets need advanced care during their visit and the veterinarian may need to spend additional time with them. Please realize that we make every effort to see each client on time.
We know life happens, so we offer a 15 minute grace period for your arrival time. If you arrive later than 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time there may be a prolonged wait until our next available appointment. This is to ensure the next scheduled pet and client are seen at their scheduled time. We value all our clients time and don't want to inconvenience their daily schedule. We can also reschedule appointment if you are unable to wait until our next open appointment the same day.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. Sometimes, our veterinarian may recommend giving your pet a mild sedative to ensure we can safely and effectively care for your pet.

Please note:  We reserve several appointment times throughout the day to ensure we are available to care for existing patients and clients.  These appointments become available every morning at 8:00 am. So, if you are unable to "schedule" an appointment for your pet's care in advance we encourage you to call first thing in the morning!

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, drop-off' appointments are available. A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to drop off' sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We require that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
